How to Record audio from your scanner using your computer
1. Download RecAll from http://www.sagebrush.com/
2. Make sure you have an audio cable ( stereo type) that has 3.5mm(headphone type) sockets on either end
3. Once you have this in place you need to install Recall onto your computer
4. Once this is done connect one end of the Audio Lead into your scanners Tape Out or Audio Out Socket
5. Place the other end of the Audio Lead into your Sound Card's

Step 1 : -
If you are running Windows XP you must download version 2.5beta as this is the version that is the only version that is officially supported
If your running Windows 95/98/2000/ME download Version 2.4 as this will work fine
Step 2 : -
These audio cables can be obtained pre-made from your local Jaycar or Dick Smith Electronics stores
If you use the following configuration settings for the various versions of RecAll you won't go wrong as these are what I have used.
Configuring RecAll ( Version 2.4)
Click on Options Menu
Click on Preferences
Click on Wave Tab
Resolution : - 16 Bit
Channels : - Mono
Default Sample Rate: 8000
Default Compression : MPEG Layer-3 16kbit/s, 8000Hz Mono
Configuring RecAll ( Version 2.5Beta)
Click on Options Menu
Select Preferences
Select the MP3 Tab
Make sure there is a tick beside "Use MP3 as default audio recording format"
Make sure there is a tick beside "Enable ID3v2 Tags"
Default Sample Rate : - 16000
Channels : - Stereo
Default Compression Bit Rate : - MPEG Layer-3 56 kBit/s, 16,000 Hz, Stereo
Default Byte Rate : - 0.401 MB/min
